About the College

Rural Dental College (RDC), Loni, was founded in 1989-90 by the Pravara Medical Trust, with the goal of addressing the shortage of dental professionals in rural Maharashtra. It's a constituent college of Pravara Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Deemed to be University, and sits on a large 120-acre unitary campus in Loni Budruk, Ahmednagar district, that houses both the college and its teaching hospital.

The college is recognised by the Dental Council of India, and PIMS carries NAAC A accreditation. All the specialised preclinical and clinical departments required by DCI are in place here, and the college also runs extension OPD services to nearby villages, giving students exposure to rural and community dentistry alongside regular clinical training.

Quota Note: Since RDC is a deemed university college, BDS admission goes through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), not Maharashtra state counselling. Seats are offered under All India Quota / Deemed University quota, along with Management and NRI quota.

Eligibility Criteria for BDS

• Passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects
• General category candidates need at least 50% aggregate in PCB
• Must have qualified NEET-UG, conducted by NTA
• Should be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year
• NRI, OCI, PIO, and foreign national applicants are also eligible, subject to NRI category documentation and sponsorship norms

Admission Process

Since RDC is a deemed university college, admission runs through MCC, not state counselling.

Note: MCC counselling for deemed universities runs across Round 1, Round 2, a Mop-Up Round (Round 3), and a Stray Vacancy Round. It's worth noting that once you accept a seat in Round 3, you can't withdraw or move to further rounds - so choose carefully at that stage.
