About the College

School of Dental Sciences, Krishna Institute of Medical Sciences Deemed University (KIMSDU), Karad, was founded in 2006-07 and is a constituent dental college of Krishna Vishwa Vidyapeeth (KVV), Deemed to be University, based in Malkapur, Karad, in Maharashtra's Satara district. The parent university itself dates back to 1984.

The college is recognised by the Dental Council of India, and KIMSDU holds NAAC A grade along with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 14001:2015 certification. The campus is green and eco-friendly, spread over 57 acres, and the dental hospital runs with 280+ electrically operated chairs - a fairly large clinical setup for a college of this size.

Quota Note: Since KIMSDU is a deemed university, BDS admission goes through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), not Maharashtra state counselling. Seats are offered under All India Quota / Deemed University quota, along with Management and NRI quota.

Eligibility Criteria for BDS

• Passed Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English as compulsory subjects, with at least 50% aggregate marks
• Must have qualified NEET-UG, conducted by NTA
• Should be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year
• NRI, OCI, PIO, and foreign national applicants are also eligible, subject to NRI category documentation and sponsorship norms

Admission Process

Since KIMSDU is a deemed university, admission runs through MCC, not state counselling.

Note: MCC counselling for deemed universities runs across Round 1, Round 2, Round 3 (previously called the Mop-Up Round), and a Stray Vacancy Round. Once you're allotted a seat in Round 3, withdrawal isn't permitted - so it's worth deciding carefully before locking that round.
