About the College

SRM Dental College (SRMDC), Chennai, was started in 1996-97 and is located in Ramapuram, Chennai. It's a constituent college of SRM University of Health Sciences - which, in 2002, became the first institution in India to hold deemed university status. The campus itself covers about 5-5.18 acres with a built-up area of over 4,74,000 sq. ft.

The college is recognised by the Dental Council of India, accredited NAAC A++, and ISO certified. It has consistently placed among the top dental colleges in India by NIRF, ranking in the top 10 in recent years.

Since SRMDC operates under deemed university status, BDS admission goes through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), not Tamil Nadu state counselling. Seats are offered under All India Quota / Deemed University quota, along with Management and NRI quota.
