JEE Main and TNEA โ Clarification
- The official 2027 B.Tech page lists VTUEEE and Direct Admission. JEE Main is not listed as an admission route, although some third-party sites mention it. Confirm with the university before relying on it.
- TNEA does not apply to Vel Tech University. It is a deemed university with its own admission process.
- Vel Tech Multi Tech and Vel Tech High Tech are separate Anna University-affiliated colleges where TNEA is relevant.

B.Tech Eligibility Criteria 2027

Scholarship note: For the Mahatma Gandhi National Merit Scholarship, the State/UT where you studied and appeared for Class XII is treated as your state, irrespective of nativity.
Candidates who do not satisfy eligibility will have their admission cancelled; refund is as per UGC norms.

- 12 years of schooling with minimum 50% average in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry, and English as a subject.
- NRI sponsorship must be through a parent; relative or friend sponsorship is not allowed.
- AICTE 2025โ26 approval shows NRI and FN/Gulf quota/OCI approval for Vel Tech B.Tech programmes.
- 383 NRI students were enrolled in B.Tech in 2025โ26 (equal to the 15% supernumerary capacity). The 2027 branch-wise NRI quota is not yet published.
- SAARC candidates: no institution and hostel caution deposit and no hostel admission fee.
OCI / Foreign National Admission
OCI and Foreign National applicants should use the university's international admission route. Their eligibility, documents, fee structure and admission conditions may differ from the regular Indian and NRI routes.
