Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification:
• Bachelor's Degree of at least 3 years in any discipline from a recognized university
• Engineering, Commerce, Science, Arts, Management, Law, Pharmacy, Agriculture, Architecture - all streams eligible

Final-Year Students:
• Candidates in the final year of graduation are eligible to appear; must complete degree within the timeline specified by the admitting institute

Age Limit:
• No minimum or maximum age limit

Work Experience:
• Not mandatory - fresh graduates and working professionals both eligible
• Some institutes assign additional weightage to work experience during final selection

Nationality:
• Indian Citizens, NRIs, OCI, PIO, and Foreign Nationals eligible (subject to institute-specific policies)

Section-wise Pattern & Difficulty

The Decision Making section is unique to XAT and often differentiates high scorers. Focus on maintaining high accuracy — negative marking applies for incorrect answers.

Step 1 - New Candidate Registration

Visit xatonline.in and register with a valid email ID and mobile number. Login credentials will be sent to your registered email and phone.

Step 2 - Fill Application Form

Fill personal details, academic qualifications, work experience, preferred test city, and XLRI programme preferences (if applying). Ensure all details match official documents.

Step 3 - Upload Documents & Pay Fee

Upload photo and signature in prescribed format. Pay the registration fee via Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking, or UPI. Save the confirmation page and payment receipt.

Step 4 - Download Admit Card & Appear for XAT

Download the admit card from the official portal and appear for the Computer-Based Test at your designated test centre on the scheduled exam date.

Step 5 - Apply Separately to Institutes

Most institutes require a separate admission application. Qualifying XAT does not automatically make you eligible for every institute — check each institute's admission schedule and apply within the deadline.

Step 6 - Shortlisting & Selection Rounds

Shortlisted candidates are called for PI, GD, WAT, Case Discussion, or other institute-specific rounds. Shortlisting is based on XAT percentile, sectional performance, academic record, work experience, and diversity factors.

Step 7 - Final Merit List & Admission Offer

Final admission is offered after considering XAT score, interview performance, academic record, work experience, WAT, and overall candidate profile. A high percentile improves interview call chances but does not guarantee admission.

Step 8 - Document Verification & Fee Payment

Submit required academic and personal documents within the stipulated timeline. Pay the admission fee to confirm the seat. Complete all formalities before the deadline.
