Indian Institute of Information Technology Guwahati (IIITG), established in 2013 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, is one of 20 IIITs created through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

It offers B. Tech programs in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), along with M.Tech and Ph.D. programs in various disciplines, including Mathematics and Humanities. Declared an Institute of National Importance in 2017, IIITG quickly gained recognition, ranking 66th in NIRF 2020 in its first eligible year, highest among MHRD-funded IIITs.

Despite rank fluctuations, it remains the top IIIT in PPP mode. IIIT Guwahati Admission Process For 2025

Here’s the IIIT Guwahati Admission Process for 2025, streamlined for clarity:

Eligibility Criteria

Admission to the B. Tech programmes (CSE & ECE) at IIIT Guwahati is based on:

• A valid JEE Main 2025 score and rank.
• Completion of class 12 (10+2) with at least 75% aggregate marks, including Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.
• No upper age limit; standard JoSAA category reservations apply.

Steps to take Admission 

1. Appear for JEE Main 2025 in January/April sessions.
2. Register for JoSAA/CSAB Counselling when it opens in early June.
3. Fill & lock choices, listing your preferred branch (CSE/ECE) under IIIT Guwahati.
4. Pay the JoSAA registration fee (₹5,000).
5. Seat allotment happens online; upon allotment, download the provisional allotment letter.
6. Upload documents digitally on the JoSAA portal for verification.
7. Physically report to IIIT Guwahati (typically mid-August), submit original documents, and pay the remaining institute fee via SBI Collect.
8. Attend orientation and begin academic sessions as scheduled.
