Indian Institute of Information Technology Kota (IIIT Kota) was established in 2013 under the Ministry of Education, Government of India, as an Institute of National Importance. It operates under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, with contributions from the Government of Rajasthan and industry partners.

Initially mentored by Malaviya National Institute of Technology, Jaipur (MNIT Jaipur), IIIT Kota began its academic sessions in 2013 at MNIT Jaipur's campus. The institute offers undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), and Artificial Intelligence and Data Engineering, with admissions through JEE Main and JoSAA counseling.

Graduate programs include M.Tech and Ph.D. degrees in these disciplines. In 2017, IIIT Kota was granted the status of an Institute of National Importance through the Indian Institutes of Information Technology (PPP) Act. The permanent campus, located in Ranpur near Kota, Rajasthan, spans 100.37 acres and is being developed in phases. The first batch graduated in 2017, and the institute continues to focus on providing industry-oriented education and fostering research and innovation.

Here’s an updated overview of the admission process for IIIT Kota for 2026:

Eligibility Criteria

Applicants must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics, securing a minimum 55% (General) or 60-75%, depending on the source. Admission is based on a valid JEE Main score; candidates within JoSAA/CSAB rank lists are eligible.

Steps to take Admission 

1. Register & appear for JEE Main 2026 (Session 1 in January/Session 2 in April)
2. Participate in JoSAA/CSAB counselling: fill choices (CSE/ECE), lock them, and await seat allotment
3. Accept seat: pay JoSAA/CSAB fees upon provisional allotment
4. Report to IIIT Kota: attend physical reporting for document verification per schedule (typically mid-August)
5. Pay the institute fee, complete formalities, and take hostel admission if required.
