The Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT) Nagpur, established in 2016, is an autonomous Institute of National Importance under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model. It operates with support from the Ministry of Education, Government of India, the Government of Maharashtra, and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) as the industry partner. The institute commenced its operations in the academic year 2016–17 and shifted to its permanent 100-acre campus in Waranga, Nagpur, in April 2021.

IIIT Nagpur offers undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) and Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), with specialized branches introduced in 2022, including CSE in Data Science and Analytics, Human-Computer Interaction & Gaming Technology, Artificial Intelligence & Machine Learning, and ECE in Internet of Things. IIIT Nagpur offers a transparent seat matrix for its B.Tech programs through JoSAA counselling. The seat distribution is categorized across OPEN, GEN-EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST, and PwD categories. The institute currently does not have separate female-only seats, and admissions are conducted through the gender-neutral seat pool.
