At present, MBBS in Arunachal Pradesh is offered primarily through TRIHMS, Naharlagun. This government medical college is the first and only institution in the state providing MBBS education, with a well-structured curriculum, modern facilities, and dedicated hospital attachments for clinical training. Arunachal Pradesh has only one medical college, which was established in the year 2018.
The Tomo Riba Institute of Health & Medical Sciences (TRIHMS) in Naharlagun is the only government medical college offering MBBS in Arunachal Pradesh. Established in 2018 and affiliated with Rajiv Gandhi University, the institute admits 50 MBBS students each year. It is attached to a 500-bedded hospital, ensuring students gain strong clinical exposure during their studies. Named in honour of Tomo Riba, the second Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, the institute highlights the state’s growing focus on quality medical education.
