Eligibility Criteria for MBBS in Jammu & Kashmir

To be eligible for MBBS admission in Jammu & Kashmir, candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed the Higher Secondary Part-II (10+2) or an equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects. They must have secured a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology (40% for SC/ST/RBA/ALC/IB/OSC candidates and 45% for PwD candidates).
  • NEET-UG Qualification: Candidates must have appeared in the NEET-UG examination and secured the minimum qualifying percentile as prescribed by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
Domicile Criteria

Jammu & Kashmir has specific domicile requirements for MBBS admissions:

  • State Domicile: Candidates must be permanent residents of Jammu & Kashmir as defined in Section 6 of the Constitution of Jammu & Kashmir.
  • Non-Domicile Candidates: While the majority of seats are reserved for domicile candidates, a certain percentage of seats may be available for non-domicile candidates under the All India Quota (AIQ).
