About NIT Meghalaya

The National Institute of Technology Meghalaya (NIT Meghalaya) is one of the 31 NITs in India, established in 2010. It is an Institute of National Importance, functioning under the Ministry of Education, Government of India. Currently, the institute operates from a temporary campus in Shillong, while the permanent campus is under development at Sohra (Cherrapunji). Admission Process & Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria:

✔ Candidates must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. 

✔ A minimum of 75% marks (General/OBC) and 65% (SC/ST/PwD) in Class 12 or must be in the top 20 percentile of their board. 

✔ Admission is based on JEE Main score and JoSAA/CSAB counseling. 

✔ Foreign/NRI candidates can apply through DASA (Direct Admission of Students Abroad).

Admission Process:

1️⃣ Appear for JEE Main: Candidates must qualify for JEE Main, conducted by NTA. 

2️⃣ Register for JoSAA Counseling: Eligible students must register and participate in JoSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority). 

3️⃣ Choice Filling & Seat Allotment: Candidates must select NIT Meghalaya and their preferred branch. 

4️⃣ Document Verification & Fee Payment: After seat allotment, candidates must report to the assigned center for verification and confirm admission.
