The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has released an important notice for candidates seeking admission under the NRI quota in NEET UG Counselling 2025. With stricter verification and monitoring procedures in place this year, candidates are urged to ensure complete compliance with the updated rules to avoid cancellation of their seats or permanent disqualification from the counselling process.

As per the notice issued on 21 July 2025, only genuine NRI candidates, children of NRIs, or wards of NRIs (minors under bona fide guardianship) will be eligible for admission under this quota. Candidates must possess valid documentation issued by the Indian Mission or the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) as proof of their NRI status. Any discrepancy or misrepresentation of eligibility will be treated as a serious violation.

NEET UG Counselling 2025: MCC Introduces Strict Verification for NRI Quota Seats

The MCC has tightened document verification this year to prevent misuse of NRI seats. All required documents will be checked physically at the time of reporting to the allotted college. The respective colleges are required to forward these documents to MCC, which will further scrutinize them and send them to the concerned Indian mission or embassy for final verification. If any document is later found to be fake or forged, the allotted seat will be immediately cancelled, and strict disciplinary action will be taken against both the candidate and the college involved.

The committee has also clarified that it reserves the right to demand additional documents or clarification at any stage of the admission process. Any attempt to submit false documents or manipulate the verification process will not only lead to disqualification from the current counselling but may also invite further legal consequences.

This notice serves as a strong reminder for all NRI aspirants to be vigilant and submit only authentic documents duly attested by the relevant authorities. With MCC intensifying scrutiny to maintain transparency and fairness in NEET UG Counselling 2025, compliance with these updated guidelines is crucial for securing a medical seat under the NRI quota.
