NEET UG (Undergraduate)

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate), or NEET UG, is the sole entrance examination for admission to undergraduate medical programs such as MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BSMS, BUMS, and BHMS in India. Conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), NEET UG ensures a standardized assessment process for all medical aspirants.

  • Total Questions: 180 MCQs + 20 optional (Total: 200)

NEET UG is the primary criterion for admission to all undergraduate medical institutions in India, including prestigious institutes like AIIMS and JIPMER.


NEET PG (Postgraduate)

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Postgraduate), or NEET PG, is the entrance examination for admission to postgraduate medical courses such as MD, MS, and PG Diploma programs. It is conducted by the National Board of Examinations (NBE) and is a crucial step for medical graduates seeking specialization.

Key Highlights:

  • Exam Mode: Computer-based test (CBT)

  • Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes (210 minutes)

  • Total Questions: 200 MCQs

  • Total Marks: 800

  • Marking Scheme: +4 for each correct answer, -1 for each incorrect answer

  • Language: English only

  • Eligibility:

    • MBBS degree recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI)

    • Completion of a one-year internship

    • Valid registration certificate


Notes:

  • The total marks for NEET PG were previously listed as 720, but with 200 questions and +4 marks per question, the total should be 800.
