The Directorate of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Chennai, has officially commenced the Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2025 counselling process for admission to MBBS and BDS courses. The registration is open for both government quota and management quota seats. Eligible candidates can now register for Tamil Nadu NEET 2025 counselling by visiting the official portal at tnmedicalselection.net.

The NEET 2025 result was declared on June 14, 2025, and candidates who qualified are required to complete the counselling registration before the deadline of June 25, 2025. During the application process, candidates must upload their NEET 2025 admit card along with other necessary documents as per the guidelines.

The counselling is applicable for admission to medical and dental colleges across Tamil Nadu under state quota (government and self-financed institutions) and management quota seats. The counselling will be conducted in multiple phases, including Round 1, Round 2, Mop-up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round, depending on the availability of seats.

As of now, the detailed Tamil Nadu NEET counselling 2025 schedule for subsequent rounds and events has not been released. All updates regarding choice filling, merit list publication, allotment results, and further rounds will be made available on the official website in due course.

Eligibility Criteria for Tamil Nadu NEET UG 2025 Counselling

•    Must have qualified NEET UG 2025.

•    Domicile: Native of Tamil Nadu or studied from Class 6 to 12 in the state.

•    Age: At least 17 years as of December 31, 2025.

•    Academic Requirements:

o    Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as subjects in 10+2.

o    Minimum marks:

    General: 50%

    SC/ST/OBC: 40%

    PwD: 45%

7.5% Government School Quota

As per Tamil Nadu Act No.34 of 2020:

•    7.5% of all government seats are reserved for government school students.

•    Candidates must have studied from Class 6 to 12 in government schools.

•    Vacant seats will be filled as per general merit.

•    Discontinuation after admission under this quota will result in penalties and reimbursement of educational costs.

Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling 2025 - Process Flow

1.    Registration: Online via tnmedicalselection.net.

2.    Document Upload: NEET scorecard, mark sheets, certificates, community/nativity proof.

3.    Fee Payment:

o    Govt. Colleges: Nominal fee

o    Private/Management: ₹30,000 - ₹1,00,000 (refundable for some categories)

4.    Choice Filling: Select and lock preferred colleges and courses.

5.    Seat Allotment: Based on rank, category, and preferences.

6.    Reporting: Report to college with documents for verification.

7.    Further Rounds: Round 2, Mop-up, and Stray rounds based on vacancy.

Government Colleges:

•    Tuition Fee: ~ ₹13,610/year

•    Hostel & other charges extra

Private Colleges:

•    MBBS: ₹3.85 to ₹6.5 lakh/year

•    Hostel: ₹80,000 to ₹1.2 lakh/year

Additional charges for caution deposit, exam fee, medical, etc., vary by institution.
