Aarupadai Veedu Medical College and Hospital (AVMCH) was established in the year 2000 by the Thirumuruga Kirupananda Variyar Thavathiru Sundara Swamigal Medical Educational and Charitable Trust, under the leadership of Dr. A. Shanmugasundaram. It was initially affiliated with Pondicherry University and later came under the ambit of Vinayaka Mission’s Research Foundation (Deemed to be University) in 2004. The college is situated on the Pondicherry–Cuddalore Road, a well-connected national highway, and spreads over 44 acres of lush greenery, offering a serene and self-contained learning environment.

The MBBS program at AVMCH began in the academic year 2000-2001 and has since established itself as a reputed medical education institution. The college currently admits 150 MBBS students annually and also offers postgraduate programs in 19 medical disciplines, with a total intake of 99 postgraduate students. Additionally, the institution provides Ph.D. programs in various medical and interdisciplinary fields. More than 750 students are currently enrolled in different medical programs at AVMCH, making it a significant contributor to medical education and healthcare research.

    Academic Qualification: Completion of 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects.

o    SC/ST/OBC Category: 40% aggregate in PCB.

o    PWD Category: 45% aggregate in PCB.
