Definition of Local Resident (Domicile Criteria)

A candidate is considered a Local Resident (थानीय िनवासी) of Madhya Pradesh if:

MADHYA PRADESH DOMICILE POLICY FOR MBBS ADMISSIONS (2025–26)

(Strictly based on GAD 6.1 + Supporting Admission Documents)

Domicile Criteria (Clause 3.1 to 3.8)

A. Birth and Education Criteria (Clause 3.1)

• Candidate must Be:
  • Born in Madhya Pradesh
• AND
• Must have studied in:
  • Educational institution located in Madhya Pradesh for Minimum 3 continuous years
• Exception:
  • This condition is:
    • Not applicable to Defence / Ex-servicemen cases

B. Long-Term Residence Criteria (Clause 3.2)

• Candidate must have:
  • Continuous residence in Madhya Pradesh for 15 years

C. Residence + Economic Link Criteria (Clause 3.3)

• Candidate must satisfy:
  • Residence:
    • Last 10 years in Madhya Pradesh
  • AND
  • Must have:
    • Immovable property, OR Business / industry (उोग / वसाय)

D. MP Government / Institutional Employee Criteria (Clause 3.4)

• Candidate is:
  • Employee of:
    • Madhya Pradesh Government, OR Corporation / board / commission / undertaking
  • OR
  • Employee of:
    • State institutions:
      • Located outside Madhya Pradesh
• Mandatory Additional Condition
  • Candidate must also satisfy:
    • Clause 3.1 OR 3.2 OR 3.3

E. Central Government Employee Criteria (Clause 3.5)

• Candidate is:
  • Central Government employee
• AND
• Has served in Madhya Pradesh for:
  • 10 years

F. All India Services Criteria (Clause 3.6)

• Candidate is:
  • All India Services officer
• AND
• Allocated to:
  • Madhya Pradesh cadre

G. Constitutional / Statutory Appointment (Clause 3.7)

• Candidate is:
  • Appointed on:
    • Constitutional or legal post
  • By:
    • President, OR
    • Governor

H. Defence / Ex-Servicemen Criteria (Clause)

  • Separate domicile certificate (in such cases)

C. Parent-Based Eligibility

• If parents are domicile:
  • Children can be granted:
    • MP domicile certificate
• Based on:
  • Verification of parent’s domicile

A. State Quota Seats

• Required for:
  • Government colleges
  • Private colleges (state quota) (all seats except NRI quota)

B. Reservation Benefits

• Only MP domicile candidates:
  • Eligible for:
    • SC / ST / OBC / EWS benefits

A. NRI Seats

• Open to:
  • NRI / OCI / Sponsored candidates

  • Affidavit + sponsorship documents

B. Later Counseling Rounds
