CUET (PG)
The Common University Entrance Test (Postgraduate) 2026, commonly referred to as CUET (PG) 2026, is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission to Postgraduate programmes offered by Central Universities and other participating universities and institutions for the Academic Session 2026–27.
→ The examination provides a single, standardized platform for candidates across India to apply for postgraduate programmes in multiple universities through one entrance test.
→ This system aims to ensure transparency, fairness, and equal opportunity for candidates seeking admission to higher education institutions.
✦ CUET (PG) 2026 is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA), an autonomous testing organization established by the Ministry of Education to conduct standardized entrance examinations.
→ The CUET (PG) examination was introduced in 2022 to facilitate admission into postgraduate programmes across participating universities through a common entrance examination.
→ The scores obtained in CUET (PG) 2026 will be used by participating universities for admission to postgraduate programmes in the academic year 2026–27.
✦ A single national entrance examination for postgraduate admissions
✦ Acceptance of scores by Central Universities and other participating institutions
✦ Conduct of examination in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode
✦ Use of CUET (PG) scores by universities for preparation of merit lists and admissions
→ It must be noted that appearing in CUET (PG) 2026 does not guarantee admission. Candidates must fulfil the programme-specific eligibility criteria prescribed by the respective universities.
For CUET (PG) 2026, the responsibilities of the National Testing Agency (NTA) are strictly limited to examination-related activities. The agency has been entrusted with conducting the examination on behalf of the Ministry of Education and participating universities. The primary responsibilities of NTA include:

✦ Conduct of the Computer Based Test (CBT) at designated examination centres
✦ Hosting of provisional answer keys and inviting challenges from candidates

✦ Preparation and declaration of results
✦ Issuance of CUET (PG) scorecards to candidates
✦ Preparation of merit lists
✦ Counselling and admission schedules
✦ Verification of documents

Candidates are therefore advised to regularly check the official websites of the universities to which they are applying for admission procedures and programme eligibility requirements.
