ESIC Seat Intake Percentile Distribution

In line with the latest updates, the ESIC Medical Colleges will follow a unique seat intake distribution across various quotas. The seat allocation will be divided into three categories:

Category Percentage of Seats
AIQ (All India Quota)
15%
State Quota
50%
ESIC Quota
35%

Breakdown of the Quotas:

AIQ (15%): This quota is reserved for candidates applying from outside the state where the medical college is located.

State Quota (50%): This quota is reserved for candidates from the respective state where the college is located.

ESIC Quota (35%): A significant portion of the seats (35%) will be allocated for candidates under the ESIC Insured Persons Quota.

ESIC Insured Persons Quota (IP Quota)

The ESIC Insured Persons Quota (IP Quota) is specifically for students whose parents or guardians are insured persons under the Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) scheme. Here’s a simple breakdown of how this works:

ESIC Quota Seats are reserved for the children (ward) of insured individuals under the Insured Persons Quota.

Domicile-Free Candidates: These students do not have to be residents of the state where the college is located, but they must fulfill the ESIC criteria.

Counseling Process: The Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) will conduct counseling for these seats. The process includes four rounds of counselling:

1.  Round 1

2.  Round 2

3.  Mop-Up Round

4.  Online Stray Vacancy Round

Only candidates who have qualified NEET-UG based on their rank are eligible to participate in this counselling process.

Reservation Policy for ESIC IP Quota Seats

The reservation policy for ESIC’s Insured Persons Quota ensures fair opportunities for underrepresented groups, as follows:

Category
Percentage
SC (Scheduled Caste)
15%
ST (Scheduled Tribe)
7.5%
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)
 27%
EWS (Economically Weaker Sections)
10%
PwD (Persons with Disabilities)
5%

This reservation policy follows Central Government norms and ensures equal access to medical education for a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds.

A Game-Changer for Medical Aspirants

With the introduction of 10 new ESIC medical colleges and an expanded seat intake through the Insured Persons Quota, ESIC is set to revolutionize the medical education landscape in India. This move will not only increase the availability of medical seats but also make it easier for children of insured persons to pursue MBBS in reputable institutions across the country. Additionally, the reserved quota seats ensure that deserving candidates from all backgrounds have a fair chance to secure a seat.

For NEET-UG 2025 aspirants, this is an exciting time, as the new colleges will further enhance opportunities for aspiring doctors to achieve their dreams. Keep an eye on the MCC counseling process and ensure you’re fully prepared for the upcoming rounds!
