What is the Process of NEET PG 2025 Counselling?

NEET PG 2025 counselling is held in online mode by the MCC for AIQ seats and by state authorities for state quotas. It usually involves a series of extra rounds to fill vacancies. Applicants will soon after the exam results are announced which will fall in late August or early September 2025, if we analyze the recent trends and official notifications. Here's a detailed breakdown:

- Registration: Candidates need to register on mcc.nic.in (for AIQ) or state portals by logging in using NEET PG roll number, personal details and uploading document such as MBBS degree, internship certificate and category proofs.

- Fees Payment: Pay the non-refundable registration amount fee (it is around INR 1,000 - 8,000, the amount is according to the course you choose) and refundable security deposit (is INR 7,500 - 50,000, the amount is relevant to the seat type).

- Filling and Locking of Choices: Make the choice of colleges & courses, and lock the choices as per preferences in the seat matrix. Rank all options carefully; the allocation is according to rank and preference. Make lock selections in advance to prevent an auto-lock.

- Seat Allocation: The intakes are released in the form of rounds (Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up /Stray Vacancy Rounds). Verify allotment letters on the portal.

- Reporting and Joining: Once you get your college, go there on the given time (generally 7-10 days) along with actual certificates for documentation. Sign up for classes and pay for admission fees.

- Upgradation: Candidates may move to better seats in subsequent rounds without forfeiting the current round unless the offer is confirmed.

- Special Considerations: PwBD candidates are required to register themselves on the PwD portal till dates indicated. By 2025, it’s live, with medical board reviews.

The whole process is a completely transparent one, with the seat matrices being released before hand. There are approximately 50% of seats are under AIQ and rest states managed i.e private colleges etc. Candidates not eligible for AIQ can participate in state counselling.
