Editor: Bodmas Research Published: 14 Jul 2025 Updated: 14 Sep 2026

New Delhi : The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has provided the schedule for the Final (Mop-up) Round for Centralised Merit Based Counselling for DNB Post Diploma Course admissions for the academic session 2025. This round is the last stage of DNB counselling and provides the last opportunity for eligible medical practitioners to seek admission in the post-diploma specialisation programmes at medical institutions across India that are accredited for DNB training and education.

There are benefits to accredited institutions DNB Post Diploma training program due to the training quality, approval by National Medical Commission (NMC), and the credentials are equivalent to MD/MS qualification. It is worth noting that there is competition for DNB Post Diploma admissions. Therefore, mop-up round is significant to candidates who have had no seat allocated in prior rounds or want to take advantage of more favourable options based on changed choices.

Final Mop-up Round Counselling Dates Announced

NBEMS has established a clear timeline for the mop-up round of the process which will occur between 16th July 2025 and 31st July 2025. The process will begin with the candidates logging in to the NBEMS accounts to pay the tuition/1st-year course fee. Once the fee is paid, candidates will be allowed to fill their choices and lock their options for the available specialties and institutes. On 24th July 2025, the selection results will be published where selected candidates will have to physically visit the allotted institute between 24th - 31st July 2025.

It is important to complete the process on time to avoid being disqualified or being forfeited from your allocated seat and fee paid. Candidates need to keep themselves informed by consistently visiting the NBEMS portal and following the timelines for completing all required end-of-process actions and procedures so that any last-minute problems can be avoided.

This is a strict deadline and must be acknowledged with serious attitudes, otherwise, they may be disqualified from the counselling altogether.
