Healthcare Revolution of Madhya Pradesh: New Medical Colleges and Boon Projects

Expressing optimism in launching the project, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said the project will be extended to 26 government medical colleges in the next few years. Between 2014 and 2019, the number of medical colleges doubled from 387 to 780, and undergraduate seats doubled from 56,000 to 1.7 lakh. The government has pledged to add a further 75,000 places in the next five years, creating even more openings for young people wanting to become doctors. This will allow Madhya Pradesh to keep more of its local talent in the state, shortening the healthcare deficit between its urban and rural regions.
