UP Government Grants Approval for MBBS Course at DJ College of Medical Sciences and Research

DJ College of Medical Sciences and Research, part of the DJ Group of Institutions, has officially secured approval from the Uttar Pradesh State Government to establish an MBBS course. The Uttar Pradesh Government has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the college, marking a significant step toward addressing the growing demand for quality medical education in the region. Additionally, the institution has received consent for affiliation from the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University in Lucknow.

The approval of the MBBS course positions DJ College of Medical Sciences and Research as a major player in the educational landscape of Modinagar and the surrounding Ghaziabad district. The medical college is set to become a prominent part of the DJ Group of Institutions, which has been a trailblazer in medical education since its establishment in 1997. The group currently operates a variety of healthcare and educational facilities, including dental, nursing, pharmacy, and paramedical colleges, all situated on a sprawling 75-acre campus in Modinagar.

A Milestone for Modinagar and Surrounding Regions

Rhitik Jassar, the COO & Secretary of DJ Group of Institutions, expressed excitement about the approval, stating, “This marks a big milestone in our journey. DJ Group has been the first to bring many innovations to Modinagar, including the first dental college, first ayurvedic college, and the first nursing and paramedical college. This will be the region's first medical college and only the second in the entire Ghaziabad district.” Jassar emphasized that the college aims to provide accessible and high-quality healthcare for the local community, eliminating the need for residents to travel long distances for treatment.

In addition to enhancing healthcare access, the new medical college is expected to generate significant employment opportunities. “This will create direct employment for over 5,000 people and indirect employment for more than 10,000,” he added. The college aims to attract and nurture some of the best healthcare talent in the country.

A Legacy of Vision and Commitment to Excellence

Dr. Smiti Klaire, CEO of DJ Group, underscored the vision behind the medical college, which was originally dreamed up by her father, Mr. Ajit Singh Jassar, the Founder-Chairman of the group. “We are committed to building this institution with world-class amenities and leading medical technology,” Dr. Klaire shared. She also noted that the medical college would be staffed with the finest healthcare professionals in the region and housed within state-of-the-art infrastructure designed to inspire future generations.

The project has received significant backing from the leadership of DJ Group of Institutions. Mrs. Sarabjit Kaur Jassar, Chairperson of the group, highlighted the scale of the medical college hospital, which will begin with a 1,000-bed capacity in Phase 1, expanding to 1,500 beds within three years. Upon completion, it is expected to be one of the largest healthcare facilities in Uttar Pradesh.

Addressing a Critical Need for Healthcare

The new medical college aims to address the critical healthcare gap in Modinagar, which currently lacks a multi-specialty hospital and advanced diagnostic facilities. As it stands, residents rely on small nursing homes with limited capacity and no access to advanced technologies like CT scans or MRIs, forcing many to travel to neighboring cities like Meerut and Ghaziabad for treatment. The establishment of DJ College of Medical Sciences and Research will offer a much-needed solution, making Modinagar a hub for accessible, affordable, and high-quality healthcare.

The design and construction of the college and its accompanying hospital complex will be led by Creative Designer Architect (CDA), a top healthcare architecture firm in India. CDA’s impressive portfolio includes designing facilities for renowned institutions like Max Hospitals, Fortis, and AIIMS. With their expertise, the medical college is expected to meet international standards and provide a state-of-the-art learning and healthcare environment.

Transforming Healthcare and Education in Uttar Pradesh

The addition of DJ College of Medical Sciences and Research to the DJ Group of Institutions’ expanding roster of educational facilities is expected to further elevate the region's reputation as a center for higher education and healthcare. With the medical college’s state-of-the-art facilities and cutting-edge healthcare services, the future of Modinagar and surrounding areas looks poised for growth and transformation.

This ambitious project is not just about education and healthcare; it’s about creating lasting social impact, providing essential services to the community, and ensuring that quality medical education is available to future generations of students from within the region and beyond.
