The NEET UG 2025 exam, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on May 4 from 2 PM to 5 PM, presented a mixed bag of difficulty across subjects. As thousands of medical aspirants exited exam halls, one sentiment was clear: Physics was the toughest. Meanwhile, Chemistry and Biology, although manageable in terms of content, were reported to be lengthy and time-consuming.

Subject-Wise Difficulty Analysis

🔹 Physics

The Physics section in NEET UG 2025 stood out for its high difficulty level. Students reported a heavy focus on conceptual and calculation-based questions, with limited direct formula-based items. This made time management particularly difficult and may significantly affect overall scores. Many students found it more challenging than the 2024 paper.

🔹 Chemistry

Chemistry was considered moderate in difficulty. Most questions were NCERT-based, but included statement-type and multi-correct answers, which required deeper understanding and slowed down attempts. Despite being straightforward in theory, the format posed a challenge.

🔹 Biology

Biology was regarded as the easiest of the three, with nearly all questions drawn directly from NCERT textbooks. However, many students pointed out the section was lengthy, demanding strong reading speed and focus. A good attempt here is expected to help students easily qualify NEET UG, even if Physics was tough.

What This Means for NEET 2025 CutOff?

The cutoff for government colleges is expected to be higher than in previous years due to the increased challenge of the Physics section. However, qualifying the exam may still be easier for those who performed well in Biology and Chemistry.

There are two key concerns for students now:

1.    What score is enough to get a government MBBS seat?

2.    What will be the qualifying NEET 2025 score?

Those aiming for government MBBS seats must wait for the official cutoff, which will be influenced by the overall student performance and seat availability. Based on initial analysis, scoring above 630+ may be necessary for a general category seat in top government colleges.

Previous Year Comparison

Compared to NEET 2024, this year’s exam was more difficult overall, especially due to the Physics section. In 2024, Physics was considered moderate, but 2025's paper raised the bar with conceptual depth and calculations.
