Telangana PG Bond: Telangana has introduced a new policy for postgraduate (PG) medical admissions, requiring students to execute a bond at the time of admission. These bonds are part of the state’s effort to ensure that medical graduates serve the Government of Telangana after completing their studies.

Service Requirement for PG Medical Students
As per the new guidelines, all postgraduate medical students (except in-service candidates) will be required to serve the Government of Telangana for one year after completing their course. This service can be in government hospitals or health institutions, as needed by the state. The bond serves as an assurance to the government that the students will complete the required service.
The bond for diploma students is set at Rs 10 lakh, while PG degree students will have to commit to a bond of Rs 20 lakh at the time of admission. This bond is a legal agreement, and failure to fulfill the service requirement will lead to a penalty.
Details of the Bond Agreement
The bond agreement is to be executed on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs 100/- value. This agreement ensures that the students are committed to completing their prescribed training and service period. If a student defaults on their service, they will be required to pay the full bond amount.
For PG diploma courses, the bond amount is Rs 10 lakh, and for PG degree courses, the bond amount is Rs 20 lakh. These amounts will be payable to the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS), which is overseeing the admissions.
Admission Process and Fee Submission
The Telangana Health, Medical, and Family Welfare Department (HM&FW) has started the admissions process for the academic year 2024-2025. As part of the admission process, candidates must submit their bond and pay the tuition fees by the specified deadline. Students must also submit their original certificates as part of the admission formalities.
Consequences for Non-Compliance
The government has issued clear guidelines on the consequences of non-compliance. Candidates who fail to report for admission after being selected through any quota—whether the Competent Authority Quota, Management Quota, or All India Quota—will face severe penalties. These candidates will be barred for three years from taking admission in future postgraduate medical courses in Telangana.
Additionally, if a candidate does not pay the required fees or fails to submit the bond and original certificates, their admission will be automatically canceled. In such cases, the student will not be eligible to participate in further rounds of counselling.
Ensuring the Effective Use of Seats
To prevent wastage of seats, the government has made it clear that any student who does not complete the admission process will be penalized. This includes candidates who are allotted seats in the final phase of counselling, including those who have been moved up from previous phases. This move is aimed at ensuring that all available seats are filled and utilized properly.
