Andhra Pradesh MBBS NRI Counselling 2026: Phase-I Web Options, Fees & Seat Matrix

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (Dr. NTR UHS), Vijayawada has released the Phase-I web options notification for MBBS admissions 2026-27 under NRI and Category-C (NRI) seats in Andhra Pradesh. Eligible candidates can exercise their college preferences through the university's online counselling portal.

The notification, dated September 27, 2026, covers NRI-category seats in newly permitted government medical colleges, Category-C (NRI) seats in private unaided minority and non-minority medical colleges, and NRI seats at Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women under SVIMS, Tirupati.

AP MBBS NRI Counselling 2026 Phase-I: Important Dates

Eligible candidates can exercise their web options within the following window:

Only candidates whose names appear in the Final Merit Position displayed on September 27, 2026 and who are found eligible for NRI-category seats can participate in Phase-I web options.

AP MBBS NRI Seat Categories

The Phase-I notification covers three major categories:

• Competent Authority NRI seats in new government medical colleges permitted from 2023-24 onwards.
• Category-C (NRI) seats in private unaided non-minority and minority medical colleges.
• NRI seats at Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, under SVIMS, Tirupati.

According to the seat matrix in Annexure-I, the notified NRI seats include 136 seats in new government medical colleges/Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, 546 Category-C seats in private non-minority colleges and 45 seats in private minority colleges.

AP Government Medical College NRI Fees

For the new government medical colleges covered under this notification, the Competent Authority NRI tuition fee is ₹20 lakh per annum.

The colleges listed include Government Medical College, Eluru; Machilipatnam; Nandyal; Rajahmundry; Vizianagaram; Paderu and Piduguralla. The NRI seat intake varies from 6 to 19 seats depending on the college.

Private Medical College NRI Fees in Andhra Pradesh

For private medical colleges, the notification mentions an interim Category-C (NRI) tuition fee of up to ₹43.56 lakh per annum for MBBS for 2026-27. Candidates are required to pay tuition fees for 4½ years at the respective colleges as applicable.

Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women NRI Fee

For Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women, under SVIMS, Tirupati, the notified NRI tuition fee for 2026-27 is ₹25 lakh per annum. Selected candidates have to pay the tuition fee at the college at the time of admission.

University Fee

Candidates who receive an allotment have to pay a University fee of ₹70,100 through the online payment gateway to download the allotment order.

After downloading the allotment order, candidates must report to the allotted college with their original certificates and pay the prescribed tuition and college fees within the specified reporting deadline.

NRI Eligibility for AP MBBS Admission 2026

The notification specifies that the following candidates can be considered for NRI-category seats:

• Actual NRI candidates.
• Foreign students and eligible OCI/PIO cardholders.
• Children or specified blood relatives of NRIs, subject to the prescribed conditions.

The notification specifically lists eligible relationships such as paternal and maternal uncles/aunts, grandparents and first-degree paternal and maternal cousins, subject to the NRI and guardianship conditions mentioned in the notification.

Important Instructions for Web Options

Candidates should carefully arrange colleges according to their preference because allotments will be made according to the priority of choices exercised during web options. Once the options are submitted, changes to the college preference or order will not be entertained after the deadline.

An OTP will be sent to the registered mobile number and email while entering and submitting the web options. Candidates are also advised to save and take a printout of their submitted choices.

Original certificates will be verified at the allotted college. If a candidate is found ineligible or any discrepancy or false information is detected in the uploaded documents, the provisional allotment can be cancelled.

What Happens to Unfilled NRI Seats?

As per the notification, NRI seats that remain vacant after exhausting choices from all eligible NRI applicants will be converted into NRI lapsed seats and filled in Phase III (Mop-Up) or subsequent counselling phases.

NRI applicants will be considered first for NRI seats in Phase I and Phase II. In Phase III and later rounds, eligible NRI applicants will be considered before NRI-lapsed applicants.
