Chhattisgarh NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 3: Registration and Choice Filling Begin October 1

Raipur: The Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh has announced the schedule for Round 3 of NEET UG Counselling 2026 for MBBS and BDS admissions. The counselling will cover vacant seats remaining after the earlier rounds in government and private medical and dental colleges across the state.

As per the notice dated September 30, 2026, both newly eligible candidates and previously registered eligible candidates can participate in the third round. New candidates must complete online registration, while candidates who were already registered must complete the institution-selection process again for Round 3.

The registration and choice-filling schedule announced by DME Chhattisgarh is as follows:

Previously Registered Candidates Must Make Fresh Institution Choices

One of the important instructions for Round 3 is that candidates who registered earlier must select institutions again.

The institutions selected during the previous round automatically become void for the purpose of Round 3. Therefore, candidates who want to participate in the third round must submit their institution choices again within the prescribed dates.

Candidates Can Add Private Medical Colleges

Candidates who had previously selected only government medical colleges but now want to consider private medical colleges can do so in Round 3.

However, such candidates will be required to pay the applicable additional registration amount, representing the difference between the prescribed private-college registration fee and the amount already deposited. Only after making the additional payment will they be able to select private medical colleges.

Registration Form Editing Facility

DME Chhattisgarh has also provided an opportunity for candidates to edit their online application.

The editing facility will remain available free of cost until the last date of online application. However, details that are directly imported from the examination-result data provided by the Central Government, as well as the mobile number and email ID entered by the candidate, cannot be changed.

Registration Fee May Be Forfeited After Seat Allotment

Candidates need to be careful while selecting colleges because the counselling rules contain provisions regarding forfeiture of the registration fee.

If a candidate does not take admission after allotment, or takes admission and subsequently leaves the allotted seat, the registration amount may be forfeited according to the applicable admission rules.

NRI candidates must submit their required documents between October 1, 2026, at 11:00 AM and October 7, 2026, at 5:00 PM through the designated email ID mentioned in the official notice. The documents must be submitted as clear, readable, colour-scanned copies combined into a single PDF file. Black-and-white or unreadable documents will not be accepted.

Documents Required for NRI Eligibility

The NRI document-verification notice lists documents that may be required depending on the candidate's circumstances, including:

• Relationship certificate/family tree establishing the relationship between the candidate and NRI
• NRI passport
• Proof of NRI residence abroad, such as valid visa, Green Card, citizenship certificate or employment/residence proof
• OCI card, wherever applicable
• NRI/NRE or equivalent bank account statement, wherever applicable
• Work permit/Green Card, wherever applicable
• Legal guardian-related documents, where NRI eligibility is claimed through a guardian
• Other documents required under Rule 13 of the Chhattisgarh undergraduate admission rules, wherever applicable

Only candidates found eligible for NRI quota will be considered for allotment under that quota. Candidates found ineligible for NRI status will not receive an NRI seat, but their application will not be cancelled and they can continue in counselling according to their other eligible category.
