GGSIPU Opens Registration for 2025-26 Academic Session with 40,000+ Seats
Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) is all set to begin the admission process for the 2025-26 academic session. The university has announced that the admission process will open on February 1, 2025, providing opportunities for over 40,000 students across various undergraduate, postgraduate, and PhD programmes.
New Courses and Increased Seats for 2025-26 Academic Session
In a bid to offer more academic opportunities, GGSIPU has introduced several new courses for the 2025-26 academic session. These include MSc in Molecular Diagnostics, MSc in Microbiology, BPT (Physiotherapy), a 3-year LLB program, a PG program in Applied Geoinformatics, and a PG Diploma in Radiological Physics. Along with the introduction of these new programs, the university has also increased its intake by adding approximately 250 additional seats across various existing programmes, building on last year’s significant expansion of 1,600 new seats. This move reflects GGSIPU’s commitment to providing a broader range of academic options to meet the growing demand for higher education.
Admission Process and Important Dates
The online application process for the following streams will start on February 1, 2025:
• 46 Master's Degree streams
• 40 PhD programmes
• 34 Bachelor's Degree disciplines
The university plans to begin academic sessions by August 1, 2025. GGSIPU will also offer reservation options for the Single Girl Child in every programme, and up to 2% of the intake in each programme will be filled under the sports quota.
Common Entrance Tests (CETs) and Counselling
The admission process will involve 52 Common Entrance Tests (CETs), which will be held between April 26 and May 18, 2025. Counselling for different programmes will take place as follows:
• MBA (via CAT), LLB, and LLM (via CLAT UG/PG): Online counselling will begin on May 1, 2025.
• Other Programmes: Online and offline counselling will commence on June 2, 2025.
Moreover, GGSIPU will consider various entry methods including national-level tests like JEE Main, NEET, CAT, CMAT, CLAT, UCEED, NATA, and CUET. Some programmes will also offer admissions based on the merit of qualifying exams.
Application Fee for GGSIPU 2025 Admissions
The application fee for the 2025-26 academic session is set at Rs 2,500, which covers both the registration and counselling participation fees. Applicants will need to pay this fee while submitting their online application.
Modes of Admission for New Programmes
For the 2025-26 session, GGSIPU has introduced updated admission criteria for several programmes, including:
Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing: Admission will now consider interviews and qualifying exam merit, in addition to the CET.
B.Sc.-M.Sc. Dual Degree in Physics/Chemistry/Mathematics: Along with JEE Main and CUET, CET and qualifying exam merit will now also be used.
MS Packaging Technology: Admission will now also consider GATE, UGC-NET, and CSIR-NET, in addition to CET and CUET.
BS Packaging Technology: Criteria have expanded to include JEE Advanced, JEE Mains, and NEET, alongside CET and CUET.
M.Tech. (Food Processing Technology): Merit in qualifying exams will now also be considered, alongside GATE and CET.
M.Tech. (Biotechnology): Similar to Food Processing, qualifying exam merit will now play a role in admissions.
B.Sc. (Environmental Science): In addition to CUET and merit, CET has been introduced as a criteria.
M.Sc. (Environmental Management): CET has now been included along with CUET and merit for admission.
