Jindal Global University Launches India’s First BA in Artificial Intelligence and Law

New Delhi: O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU) has introduced India’s first-ever Bachelor of Arts (BA) programme in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Law, marking a significant step in interdisciplinary education. This pioneering course aims to equip students with a robust understanding of AI technologies combined with essential legal frameworks.

Aspiring students need to clear either the LNAT-UK or JSAT-Law entrance exams to secure admission. According to Prof. C Raj Kumar, Vice Chancellor of JGU, “For the current intake, admissions will be based on LNAT-UK and JSAT-Law scores, with considerations for CLAT-UG and CUET-UG starting from the next academic session.” The programme welcomes students from all academic streams, including Humanities, Science, and Commerce, with an initial batch strength of 60 students.

The BA AI and Law programme is designed to prepare graduates for careers in technology law, AI policymaking, compliance, and ethical governance. Students will gain a deep understanding of how AI intersects with legal systems, empowering them to address modern challenges in a rapidly evolving tech landscape.

The launch event at Jindal Global Law School (JGLS) was graced by notable dignitaries, including Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Founding Chancellor Naveen Jindal, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta, and Senior Advocate Abhishek Singhvi.

Addressing the audience, Union Law Minister Meghwal emphasized the growing role of technology in law, stating, “We must embrace technological advancements while ensuring ethical considerations and privacy protections.
