NEET MDS 2026 Revised Qualifying Percentile
The revised qualifying percentiles are as follows:
| Category | Earlier Qualifying Percentile | Revised Qualifying Percentile |
|---|---|---|
| General (UR/EWS) | 50th percentile | 29.424th percentile |
| SC/ST/OBC, including PwD candidates in these categories | 40th percentile | 19.424th percentile |
| UR-PwD | 45th percentile | 24.424th percentile |

What Does the Cutoff Reduction Mean for Candidates?
The lower qualifying percentiles may allow more candidates to meet the minimum eligibility requirement for NEET MDS 2026 counselling. Candidates who did not meet the earlier qualifying threshold should review the revised criteria and await the updated examination results and counselling instructions.
However, qualifying NEET MDS does not guarantee admission. Seat allotment depends on factors such as merit rank, category, speciality preference, seat availability and the applicable counselling rules.
Important Note for Candidates
Candidates should check the revised official result and applicable counselling notifications before making admission decisions. A reduced qualifying percentile does not guarantee a seat.
NBEMS and MCC to Take Further Action
The Ministry has directed NBEMS to publish revised results in line with the reduced qualifying percentiles. MCC has also been asked to take the necessary steps on a priority basis.
Candidates should regularly check official notifications for revised results, counselling registration updates, choice filling schedules and other admission-related announcements. They should rely on the revised official result and counselling instructions before making admission decisions.
Conclusion
The NEET MDS 2026 qualifying percentile has been reduced by 20.576 points for all specified categories. The revised thresholds are 29.424 for General/EWS, 19.424 for SC/ST/OBC and 24.424 for UR-PwD candidates. The change may expand eligibility for counselling, but final admission will depend on merit, seat availability and the applicable selection process.
