Jamia Millia Islamia Releases BDS 2025 Prospectus: two additional seats for foreign students

The prestigious Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) has released its prospectus for the 2025-26 academic session, bringing notable changes to the Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) program. This year, two additional seats have been introduced for foreign students under the NRI quota, reflecting the university’s commitment to expanding opportunities for international students.

Important Dates for BDS Admissions at JMI 

 Prospectus Release: March 5, 2025

 Online Application Period: March 5, 2025 – April 10, 2025

 Editing Application Forms: April 12 – April 14, 2025

 Admit Card Issuance: April 17, 2025, onwards

 NEET 2025 Exam (Conducted by NTA): As per NTA schedule

 Result Declaration: NEET results will determine admissions.

Seat Reservation & Types of Quotas at JMI for BDS

  General Category- Open for all candidates who qualify under NEET merit.

  Muslim Quota – 30% of the total seats are reserved for Muslim candidates.

  Muslim Women Quota – 10% of the seats are reserved for Muslim female candidates.

  Muslim OBC & ST Quota – 10% of the seats are reserved for candidates from these categories.

 Persons with Disabilities (PwD) Quota – 5% of the total seats are reserved for PwD candidates. In the Faculty of Dentistry, only candidates with locomotory disabilities of the lower limbs between 50%-70% are considered. If such candidates are unavailable, the quota may extend to those with disabilities between 40%-50%.

 Internal Jamia Students Quota – Reserved seats for students who have completed their qualifying education from Jamia Millia Islamia.

 Supernumerary Quota – Two seats are allocated exclusively for Foreign/NRI students, who must qualify for NEET to be considered.

JMI BDS Fees for NRI/Foreign Students:

  $40,000 – Laboratory & Clinical Charges (payable to the Faculty of Dentistry).

 $10,000 – Foreign/NRI admission fee.

For exceptional cases, payment in two installments may be approved by the university.

Eligibility Criteria for BDS Admission at JMI

Admission to the BDS program at JMI is strictly based on merit, determined by the candidate’s performance in the NEET-2025 examination conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Aspiring candidates must apply for NEET and select Jamia Millia Islamia as their preferred institution. There is no separate application process for JMI.

Additionally, selected candidates will be required to execute a bond of ₹3,00,000, which will be payable if:

 The student surrenders the seat in violation of MCC rules after joining the institution.

 The student discontinues the course in the first or second year.

 The student is expelled due to misconduct, academic failure, or low attendance.
